Pick the question that fits tonight

You do not have to work through a whole list. Read these prompts and choose the one that meets you where you are. If none fits, start with “Tonight, I…” and see what follows.

Six places to begin

  1. What stayed with me today, even after the moment passed?
  2. When did I feel most like myself?
  3. What felt harder than I expected?
  4. What is one small thing I would like to remember?
  5. What am I still carrying that I could put into words?
  6. What would make tomorrow feel a little more manageable?

Write what happened before deciding what it means

You might begin with a short account of a moment: who was there, what was said, and what you noticed. Then add how it felt to you. There is room for mixed feelings and for not having an answer yet.

End wherever you want

Your page does not need a lesson or a positive ending. It can stop after one sentence. If you want a closing line, try “For tonight, this is enough.”

Keep an evening page in Still

Choose the evening guided practice or add a prompt to the page you are writing. Save it and return later if more words arrive. A daily reminder is optional, and you can choose a time that suits you.
