Start with the moment you are in

You do not need an interesting day to have something to write. Start with a detail: where you are sitting, what you can hear, or the thought that keeps coming back. Your first sentence can be as ordinary as “I am tired, and I am not sure why.”

Choose a small starting point

Try one of these sentences and follow it for as long as you like:

  • Right now, I am noticing…
  • The part of today I keep thinking about is…
  • Something I have not said out loud is…
  • What I need a little more of is…

Let a sentence be enough

There is no required length. You can leave a page unfinished, write a list, or save a photo with a few words. If a timer helps you begin, choose a short one. If it adds pressure, leave it out.

Return when it feels useful

A journal does not have to become another daily task. You can use it to remember a good moment, untangle a thought, or put a day into words. Missing a week does not make your next page less worthwhile.

Try it in Still

Open My day and choose a fresh page. You can write freely, add a photo, or choose a guided practice. Still stores your writing on your device; no account is required. For new users, unlimited entries, photos, and guided writing are included in Still Plus.
